Highland Park 13 Years Old Single Cask Series California Edition Bottled In 2018

Highland Park is known for being the most Northern Scotch Whisky Distillery in the world. It is situated on the outskirts of the biggest town in Orkney 58.9847N. It is so far North it is almost in the Arctic circle. To give you an idea, it is on the same latitude as Anchorage, Alaska.

The distillery has been distilling in the same site since 1798 where the founder, Magnus Eunsons, original illicit still was at High Park.

They smoke their own barley from over 4,000 year old peat which has been cut from the Hobbister Moor only seven miles from the distillery.

This Highland Park 12-Year-Old is part of the single cask series by the Island Distillery.

Distilled in 2005, matured in Refill Sherry Butt and bottled in 2018 at the natural cask strength of 62.7%.

This limited release is one of 588 bottles exclusively produced for California.
